Where did this information come from?
The pictures, maps and information found on these pages was taken from
a variety of sources. All the colour pictures were taken using a digital
camera, which transfers images directly from the camera to a computer,
and a 35 mm colour film transferred to CD-ROM. The old pictures and maps
are all from the "Archives nationale du Québec" and are used with
permission. The archives hold a great amount of information, and are located
in the Casault Pavillion at University Laval. Most factual information
came from "The Canadian Encyclopedia". The newspaper extracts come from
the Quebec Gazette and were found at the library at the National Assembly
in Quebec City.
If you are interested in what Quebec City used to be like, a visit
to the archives is a great idea. One could sit for hours just poring over
old pictures, maps, and documents.
